As I sit indoors, the rain falling outside, I am transported by an experience last week. Crouching in a dense strip of Milkweed (Asclepias tuberosa or Butterfly Weed) the warm sun on my arms, and thousands of native bees foraging around me, I am witness to an ancient pulse. A vibrating routine of connection between plant and insect. More endangered each day, as connections between humans and the diverse natural world compete with modern priorities.
